We love aprons and we are making them for all the kindergarten kids in Marion County. We are using reclaimed & recycled fabric using our label ReCycle Sisters! Teachers can get these
aprons at Teacher's Treasures in Indianapolis. Watch out for our pop-up sewings shops in your community. We will be working in libraries, churches, community centers and coffee houses.
Participants will be able to learn how to cut fabrics, sew a straight line and help with making our aprons! This is an on-going community project and we hope you will join us!
By helping women we are helping families--we want women to know they have value; that they matter. So often women come to us with broken spirits; years of domestic violence and sexual abuse have
caused women to be unsure of themselves--they have become a mere shadow of their former selves. We work to teach women how to become whole again- to embrace healing & become entrepreneuers of
their own dreams.
By teaching people how to sew, we teach them a valuable skill. Nowadays, high schools have stopped teaching home-ec which means that the skills needed to take care of a home are lost and
forgotten. Sewing is one of those skills. If you know how to sew or alter fabric, you will always have the cutest clothes to wear! People learn how to do alterations, tailoring.
These are good jobs that bring in a lot of work. Work brings steady employment and financial independence.
When we work together; we find solutions to difficult problems. The individuals that we help are sometimes homeless; nearly hopeless and many have already given up on finding a job they can do. We
take the time to get to know them and find work they are most likely to pursue, one they can do for the most optimum success. It isn't easy, but if we are to serve the masses, it is one we will
gladly do. It's about giving someone a chance; a reason to seek an opportunity while feeding their self-esteem.
Woven bits of pieces- a lot like the lives we are helping. Women have many bits to their lives; they are colorful & they need a place where they feel secure and accepted. Many lives
fragmented by an unjust world; lives just crying out for help. We help those who have exhausted all options and just need someone to listen to their story and encourage them to be the best they can
Joining together for a good cause:
The first and foremost goal of our non-profit organization is to make a difference in as many people's lives as possible. We strive to improve the living conditions for those who need the help,
who can't do it themselves. Have you ever thought about how much you could change things just by volunteering?
